Hi, I’m Khurram

I’m Khurram, a Product Owner in Vienna, father of two and a keen chess player. I grew up in a very small village in Punjab, Pakistan, came to Vienna for an MSc in 2014, and I still can’t get enough of this city.

I grew up in a very small village in Punjab, Pakistan, and studied Electrical Engineering at The University of Faisalabad. My career started in production and sales, where I learned early that people do their best work when someone takes them seriously.

In 2014 I moved to Vienna for an MSc in Intelligent Transport Systems at FH Technikum Wien, and never really left. Since then I’ve delivered software for e-commerce, financial services and aviation safety. Today I’m a Product Owner at MAVOCO, working on a Connectivity Management Platform for telecom and IoT.

Outside work I’m a father of two, a reader and a chess player. That side of me lives in Life off the Clock.

Lead with Empathy

People do their best work when they feel seen. I learned that long before I learned Scrum.

Early in my career, I found salary discrepancies that had gone unnoticed for years and fixed the system so every worker got what they were owed.

I offer CV reviews and referrals to people who are job hunting, because drowning doesn’t always look like drowning.

Build with AI

AI doesn’t replace judgement. It gives curious people superpowers, and I intend to be one of them.

Coordinated delivery of an AI-powered safety management system for airline operators, one of the first of its kind in aviation safety.
Certified in AI Fluency (Anthropic Academy) and PMI’s Seven AI Project Patterns, and trained on bias in AI systems with AI Factory Austria.
Went from googling “how to download VS Code” to a working mobile app in 24 hours with Claude Code. 21 commits, real bugs, no senior dev.

Ship with Precision

Good intentions don’t ship. Clear priorities, honest status and steady delivery do.

Led three parallel software initiatives in a regulated, audit-heavy environment, including a major release with zero disruption to live operations.
